Scavenger Hunt Offers New Opportunity to Celebrate
Rowland Heights Buckboard Days

October 12, 2021 – An exciting scavenger hunt offers a whole new way to celebrate the rich history of Rowland Heights during this year’s Buckboard Days event on Saturday, October 16.

Families can follow clues along an exciting route to landmarks, local businesses, and other attractions throughout the community as part of the Buckboard Days Historical Scavenger Hunt. The free, drive-through adventure is designed for families to work together on a fun-filled journey. Those who complete the quest will be eligible to win prizes.

“The scavenger hunt offers a whole new way to appreciate life in Rowland Heights,” said Brittnie Van De Car, Rowland Water’s Education and Community Outreach Coordinator and a board member of the Buckboard Days Parade Committee. “We are looking forward to extending this partnership for the 50th anniversary of Buckboard Days next year, which promises to be our biggest celebration yet!”

Typically, Buckboard Days involves a parade down Nogales Street and Colima Road and a festival at Rowland Heights Park, but that tradition was postponed this year because of COVID-19 restrictions. The Buckboard Days organizers were committed to creating a family-friendly, engaging alternative.

Rowland Water District has been actively involved in Buckboard Days for more than two decades. The District has sponsored the event financially, staffed a community booth, won multiple awards in the float-building contest and participated in the festival.

“The Rowland Water family is always looking for opportunities to support our community, where we have delivered safe, clean water for almost 70 years,” Van De Car added. “We support Buckboard Days each year because we enjoy the opportunity to lift the spirits of our families, friends, and neighbors and we have a lot of fun in the process.”

The Buckboard Days Historical Scavenger Hunt takes place Saturday, October 16, 2021, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. For more information, visit www.buckboarddaysparade.org or email RHbuckboardparade@gmail.com.
