Staff recognized during Water Professionals Appreciation Week
Essential workers keep water flowing to Rowland Water District customers

October 7, 2021 – In recognition of California Water Professionals Appreciation Week this October 2-10, Rowland Water District proudly celebrates its team of hard-working employees who reliably deliver clean, safe water to customers every day.

From mechanics to system operators, Rowland Water’s skilled staff ensures tap water meets all state and federal health standards and keeps the water flowing to nearly 60,000 people without fail.

“The men and women responsible for managing and distributing this life-sustaining resource are unsung heroes and essential workers who deserve to be recognized and honored for their hard work,” General Manager Tom Coleman said. “I am especially proud of their dedication to their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic, when they successfully pivoted operations to help the District continue to fulfill its mission.”

The District will further recognize employees during its Career Pathways program on October 20-21. The free, public webinar from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. will highlight careers in water and introduce some of the District’s water professionals. Employees will discuss their role in water treatment and delivery and share their experiences working in the industry.

Water Professionals Appreciation Week was established by the state Legislature in 2017 to showcase the essential role of water professionals in providing water and wastewater services.
