ROWLAND WATER DISTRICT
REAPPOINTS VETERAN BOARD MEMBERS
Experienced Industry Experts to Serve New Terms In Lieu Of Special Election

September 30, 2020–At its regular meeting on September 8, 2020, the Rowland Water District Board of Directors adopted a resolution to appoint two of its veteran board members to new terms in lieu of an election. Division 1 Director Teresa P. Rios and Division 2 Director Anthony J. Lima will each serve full terms ending on December 7, 2024. Their current terms were set to expire in December.

“We see our ability to reappoint Directors Rios and Lima to our Board of Directors as a direct reflection of our trusted, continued service to our customers,” said Rowland Water General Manager Tom Coleman. “Because no petition for a general election was submitted, we are not required to hold an election. These outstanding leaders will be able to smoothly transition into new terms, saving the District valuable time, money and staff resources.”

Director Rios has resided in the city of West Covina for more than 30 years, and attended Four D College in Colton, California. She is a Licensed Vocational Nurse and is currently Vice President of the Rowland Water District Board of Directors. She was originally appointed to the board in 2011 and represents the District on the Pomona-Walnut-Rowland Joint Water Line Commission and on the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Advisory Council.

A board member since 1995, Director Lima was raised in the La Puente area and currently resides in Hacienda Heights. Lima owns a trucking company in the city of Fontana, and prior to setting up his own business, he first worked in his family’s trucking company. Lima is currently a Commissioner on the Puente Basin Water Agency and on the Pomona-Walnut-Rowland Joint Water Line Commission and represents the District on the Hacienda Heights Improvement Association.
