ROWLAND WATER DISTRICT MOURNS THE PASSING OF TERESA RIOS
Statement from the Board of Directors

January 14, 2021 – “Rowland Water District is heartbroken to announce the passing of Board of Directors President Teresa P. Rios due to complications related to COVID-19.

Ms. Rios made an impact on everyone who knew her. A loving mother of two children, she was one of those people who was always giving back and ready to help others.

Rios has represented District 1 on the Board of directors since May 2011, when she was first appointed to finish the term of her late father, Rene Rios. She has served on the District board ever since, most recently winning reelection this past November.

As a resident of West Covina for most of her life, Rios graduated from Nogales High School and attended Four D College in Colton, where she studied to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She has long been an active member of the community, where she selflessly served on the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Advisory Council and represented Rowland Water District on the Pomona-Walnut-Rowland Joint Water Line Commission.

While thankful for the opportunity to know what a truly wonderful person she was, all of us here at Rowland Water District are shocked and deeply saddened by this tragedy. Her loss will truly be felt throughout our community.”
