ROWLAND WATER DISTRICT CELEBRATES ITS DEDICATED STAFF AS PART OF CALIFORNIA’S WATER PROFESSIONALS APPRECIATION WEEK
Women and Veterans in the Water Industry Are Among Highlighted Topics

October 5, 2020 –Rowland Water District is pleased to join in celebrating the 4th Annual California Water Professionals Appreciation Week, which takes place through October 11, 2020. This statewide recognition of California’s dedicated water workers will highlight the important role of water industry professionals and local public water agencies in ensuring safe and reliable water, wastewater, and recycled water in California.

“We think this type of celebration is a wonderful way to acknowledge the hard work and commitment that our water professionals put forth, day in and day out,” says Rowland Water General Manager Tom Coleman. “Throughout the week, we will be spotlighting these amazing men and women via our social media outlets. They are on the frontlines in these most challenging times, and they provide a service that is essential to the world we live in.”

Sponsored by the California Water Environmental Association, the week provides an opportunity to showcase careers in the water industry and will include free webinars and panel discussions on a wide range of topics including “Women in Water and Power: Working on the Frontlines” and “Veterans in Water: Continue Serving Your Community.”

Water Professionals Appreciation Week was established by California Senate Resolution 80 and approved by the Legislature in 2017. The resolution, authored by Sen. Bill Dodd (D-Napa), was sponsored by an Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) led coalition.
