Directors Teresa Rios and Anthony Lima will serve another four years

Rowland Water District (RWD) is pleased to announce the return of Teresa Rios and Anthony Lima to its Board of Directors.  Each ran unopposed in the current election cycle and has been appointed to a four-year term, a confirmation of their continued hard work and dedication to the community.  Encompassing accountability and teamwork in their mission, RWD’s Board of Directors strives to be a high performing water agency committed to securing a long term, reliable water supply for its customers. With the severe drought continuing throughout California, Rios and Lima understand the needs of the Rowland Water District community and know how to balance present day services with future sustainability. The board members were officially sworn into their new term at this month’s regular board meeting on December 8, 2015.

“These appointments are strong evidence that the Rowland Water community trusts our Board to make crucial decisions for the well-being of our customers,” says RWD General Manager Tom Coleman.  “Continued service at the board level allows for seamless leadership that benefits all customers.”

A lifelong area resident and a member of the Board since 2011, Rios has a thorough understanding of the priorities of Southern California citizens. She has reflected consideration for her community through her committee positions on the Pomona-Walnut-Rowland Joint Water Line Commission and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Advisory Council. “Being able to continue my position with the board is a dream come true,” Rios explains. “The voices of our customers drive the District to perform in the most responsible and efficient way possible.”

A 20-year board veteran, Lima also expresses his enthusiasm in returning with the Board of Directors. As the current Commissioner on the Puente Basin Water Agency and a part of the Pomona-Walnut-Rowland Joint Water Line Commission, Lima’s direct involvement with the organization drives forward his leadership. “Connecting our community with the know-how of water district employees is a crucial relationship,” Lima notes.

The RWD Board of Directors core values – accountability, communication and teamwork – are vital in fostering relationships across the state and opening the door to regional cooperation to benefit RWD customers. Directors ensure that RWD continues to lead in innovation and conservation throughout the region and state.  For more information, visit rwd.org.
